Mother of Fatme Al-Refaei. Fatme's travel document writes her name Sania in Latin letters and ثنيه in Arabic; the family says her real name is Thunaia. Her surname is not known. Whether she was also the mother of Fatme's brothers Ahmad and Ali is not known. Her grandson Abdul Karim explains the spelling Sania by names being written in French in Lebanon.
